The Beatles: Rock Band is the first time that Harmonix has released a full game devoted to a single band. While 2008 saw the release of the AC/DC Live Track Pack, the game was just that, a track pack of songs. AC/DC didn’t include custom animations, AC/DC inspired avatars or even a large setlist. All the game was, really, was a full-album (AC/DC Live) that was released in accordance with AC/DC’s demands and used the original Rock Band engine. The Beatles: Rock Band shows that Harmonix has it in them to make a single-band game that is both entertaining and full of great songs.
The game itself features 45 songs on disc. While there is a diverse list of songs, there are a few that were notably left off. Fans were upset to learn that favorites like “Help!”, “All You Need is Love”, “Let it Be” and “Strawberry Fields Forever” were left off the disc. Harmonix is quickly remedying those exclusions through downloadable content, however.
